At Pearl River Central Middle School our Language/Reading classes are designed to involve the students in applying reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.  Students develop an appreciation for literature through literacy elements in fiction and nonfiction selections.  They also practice refinement of grammar and spelling skills through written composition.


Mathematics classes are designed to involve students in measurement and data, geometry, problem solving, numbers and operations, and  expressions and equations.


Science classes are designed to engage students in hands on interactive learning. Various areas of study include life, physical and space science.  Science content is taught using a serious of lectures, thinking strategies, lab activities, choice boards, and videos. 


The aim of Social Studies is the promotion of civic competence by helping students become active and engaged participants in public life.
